SimCopter is a computer game developed by Maxis and released in 1996. It was the first game to involve Simlish.

Gameplay[]

The game has two modes: user and career. Career mode is the game's main mode, where the player controls a helicopter pilot that is called to solve eight types of problems in a city, which include rescuing people, stopping criminals, and extinguishing fires. User mode is a free mode that allows the player to play in any city, and can import cities from SimCity 2000 to play in them.

Controversy[]

A former Maxis employee called Jacques Servin was fired for secretly placing an Easter egg in the game: several men in speedos dancing and kissing each other by the landing pad on certain dates, such as his birthday, his partner's birthday, and any Friday the 13th. Although they were planned to only appear occasionally, the random number generator he had created malfunctioned, leading them to appear frequently. The Easter egg was caught shortly after the game's release and removed from future copies of the game. [1]

Reception[]

The game is mostly panned for its atrocious graphics and bugs, but praised for its premise and music.
